In the second degree programme you can develop your knowledge of:

  • modern energy systems: conventional and renewable
  • energy transformation and energy storages
  • hydrogen energy
  • distributed and nuclear energy
  • the environmental impact of energy and life cycle analysis of equipment and processes
  • modern refrigeration and heating

A great deal of the teaching takes the form of projects and laboratories. This gives them a strong practical dimension, which prepares you well for work in industry.

We offer a diploma path: Energy transition.

The energy sector has been undergoing transformation processes for many years due to environmental requirements and the search for new energy sources. The European Union’s energy policy calls for climate neutrality by 2050. In order to achieve these goals, it is necessary to use non-carbon energy sources, to reorganise the energy system and to apply modern energy technologies. You will gain knowledge in this area during your studies. In an era of energy transition, specialist personnel are needed.  A degree in Power Engineering offers extensive and promising employment opportunities.

Join us!

Our students study in relation to partners from industry. On the initiative of and for the needs of industry, there are projects in which students can participate. In industrial companies and partner institutions, students can undertake non-compulsory internships and placements, the natural continuation of which is often employment after graduation. Students can also go on placement abroad as part of international exchange programs.

A graduate of Power Engineering will find employability in:

  • energy companies, power plants, combined heat and power plants, heating plants
  • industrial plants as a power engineering specialist
  • design offices
  • research and development centres
  • consulting companies
  • companies designing and constructing energy systems, including renewable energy systems
  • state administration institutions and local government units in the area of energy issues
  • companies manufacturing and selling machinery and equipment for energy purposes.

Graduates are high-level specialists in the generation, processing and transmission and distribution of various forms of energy. In addition to basic technical knowledge, they have a thorough knowledge of thermal engineering, electrical power engineering and modern tools for the design and operation of energy systems and equipment. They have knowledge and skills in advanced technologies, methods of process testing and analysis, and operation of machinery and systems in the power industry. They are prepared to design, using modern information technology tools, and operate processes used in the energy and related industries. They have the skills to conduct research of processes related to energy conversion, to develop projects, to modernise processes and machines and to implement new technologies in the implementation of investments in the field of energy. They have basic economic knowledge of the operation of companies.
