SUMMER ADMISSION

“Civil engineering” jest specjalnością na kierunku “Budownictwo”. Obywatele polscy mogą aplikować na tę specjalność, dokonując zgłoszenia na kierunek “Budownictwo”, a następnie wybierając preferowany język studiowania w dodatkowych informacjach pod zgłoszeniem.

“Civil engineering” is a specialisation within the “Budownictwo” programme. Polish citizens can apply for this specialisation by submitting an application for “Budownictwo” and then selecting their preferred language of instruction in the additional information section below the application.

We teach construction from the ground up. You will learn the design of structures and the technology for executing construction works of various types and purposes, such as buildings, roads, and bridges. You will become familiar with methods to ensure the safety and durability of construction projects, as well as learn what ecology in construction entails. You will get to know the IT tools that enable modern and efficient work for designers and site managers. Studying in the field of ‘Civil Engineering’ will prepare you for a career in the broadly understood construction industry and for obtaining construction licenses.

Civil engineering is a very broad and promising field of modern industry. By studying ‘Civil Engineering,’ you will learn how to design urban infrastructure facilities (buildings, sports halls, stadiums), industrial infrastructure (transmission halls, silos, chimneys), and transportation infrastructure (roads, railways, highways, bridges). You will become familiar with the technology of construction works to be able to manage projects for all types of construction facilities. You will learn about many IT tools currently used in the digitization of construction engineering processes.

By studying for a bachelor’s degree in ‘Civil Engineering,’ you will acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies in the following areas:

  • design and construction of buildings
  • management of construction works
  • construction and investment supervision
  • maintenance and modernization of buildings
  • building foundations
  • production of construction materials and components
  • construction management
  • eco-friendly solutions to construction problems
  • planning, designing, and execution of transportation systems and technical infrastructure
  • Graduates have knowledge in the field of design, management of construction works, construction and investment supervision, technical and research activities, as well as design of buildings and their maintenance and modernization, as well as the production of building materials and elements.
  • They are able to design and construct urban engineering structures and technical infrastructure, plan and carry out urban renovation works, and cooperate in the field of spatial planning, urban planning, and the construction of roads and streets.
Graduates of Civil Engineering are prepared to work in the field of analysis and design of the structure of engineering structures and to carry out work on their implementation, among others construction, maintenance and modernization.
  • They may be involved in the implementation of construction processes and technological systems, management in construction or environmentally friendly solving of construction issues.
  • They are also prepared to design and construct linear engineering structures, communication systems, as well as construction and architectural design, construction of urban engineering structures, underground structures and technical infrastructure.
Expected competencies of the candidate The form of verification and evaluation of the candidate’s competencies
The candidate has the necessary competencies to continue education in a second-cycle programme in this field of study, confirmed by a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, in particular:

  • has knowledge and understanding of theoretical material models as well as the principles of modelling and analysis of frame and bar structures in the fields of statics, dynamics, and stability. Furthermore, the candidate understands the geological processes that shape the ground and subsoil conditions for construction projects,
  • Has knowledge and understanding of the principles of designing, dimensioning, strengthening, and repairing structural elements made of steel, reinforced concrete, composite materials, timber, and masonry, as well as selected structural components used in general construction, industrial construction, and road and railway transport infrastructure,
  • has knowledge and understanding of the industrial production processes of construction materials and building components, as well as their functions within construction works. The candidate also understands the basic economic, legal, ethical, and other factors affecting construction quality management, the principles of construction site organisation and management, and selected software tools supporting the planning and execution of construction works,
  • has knowledge of selected computer software applications supporting engineering design, including those based on Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology,
  • is able to define computational models for computer-based structural analysis, simulate various design alternatives, perform static analyses and elements of dynamic analyses of statically determinate and indeterminate frame and bar structures, and critically evaluate the results obtained,
  • is able to read architectural, construction, and surveying drawings; prepare technical documentation using selected CAD and BIM software environments; prepare an energy balance for a section of a building; and develop a simple cost estimate and schedule for selected construction works,
  • is prepared to perform professional roles responsibly, including compliance with the principles of professional ethics and respect for the achievements and traditions of the civil engineering profession. The candidate is also prepared to critically assess their own knowledge, continuously improve professional and personal competencies, develop language skills, and formulate professional opinions regarding technical and technological processes carried out in the construction industry.
  1. Verification of competencies possessed is based on the diploma of graduation in Civil Engineering with the diploma supplement.
  2. The candidate’s admission score is based on the average grade of the previous studies in Civil Engineering.

The average grade of the studies is understood as the grade determined as a weighted average rounded to two decimal places, determined by the formula:
